The olive has been the emblem of the island of Lesvos, as a symbol of its beauty and cultural heritage, as well as a vital component of the island's economy. Olive trees and the olives themselves are considered sacred by many people on Lesvos, to this day.
Throughout history, Lesbos has been referred to as the "Garden of the Aegean", known for its generously fertile land, lush vegetation and temperate climate. Olive trees thrive in areas with hot, dry summers and mild but cold winters, which is why they are in such harmony with the ecosystem of our island.
Our family's olive groves have adorned the hillsides of Komi for decades, and it is with great pride, love, and passion that we can offer a taste of our land through our extra virgin olive oil. Our Giakalis Family is the 4th generation of olive growers in Lesvos, and we are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality, most authentic Greek extra virgin olive oil our land can offer. Dimitris and Vassilis, combining their love and knowledge of olives and agronomic background, decided to continue the tradition of olive oil production through Lesvion. The Adramintini and Kolovi variety of olives that we grow are native to the island and Asia Minor, and it is renowned for its superior quality and deep, highly aromatic flavor profile.
For us, Lesvion is our Giakalis family tradition in a bottle, with each drop paying tribute to the legacy and tradition of Lesvos, our home.
